Furnace Lane, Kettering
This social housing development consists of 51 new houses built to Code Level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes. The Code is the national standard for the sustainable design and construction of new homes. The Code aims to reduce our carbon emissions and create homes that are more sustainable.
As part of their strategy for meeting Code Level 4, Thomas Vale installed Solar Photovoltaic systems to each building. This also had an added benefit to the client as they will now benefit from the Feed in Tariff or Clean Energy Cashback scheme.
Under this scheme the owner of the property, or in this case multiple properties, receives an income from the generation of electricity and a reduction in their overall electricity bill. Using Government figures their total income from this scheme could be in the region of £15-18,000 per year!

Have you seen.....?:
- Our range of Airtightness seals and membranes? Research shows that up to half of all heat loss in buildings can be due to unintended air leakage and uncontrolled ventilation. Insulation levels have increased substantially over the last few decades, but heated air is still escaping and can be pinpointed as a majorsource of energy loss. Our range of seals and membranes address this issue.
- Case Studies: We have undertaken thousands of projects over the last 85 years, some of the more recent ones are listed in our case studies section .
