UK Feed-in Tariff

The UK Government has announced the details of the feed-in tariff for renewable technologies. The tariff equates to the owner being paid for the electricity that they generate by the energy company, so instead of a bill you can receive a cheque!

Using government figures, the average homeowner installing a 2.5kWp PV system will generate up to £900 a year directly from the tariff and save an extra £140 a year in fuel costs.

It was also confirmed that there will be no income tax for home owners on revenue from the feed-in tariff, providing the energy generated is used mainly by your own property.
