To encourage the use of on-site renewables the Government is implementing a scheme whereby house owners will be paid a certain amount per kWh of electricity generated. The final tariff is due to be announced in January 2010 and is expected to be in the region of 30-40p per kwh.
This will reduce the payback period to around 7-10 years (depending on site conditions and system) and will ensure that people who install these technologies will be less affected by the expected increases in fuel prices.
EH Smith have partnered with leading German manufacturer, Schuco, to offer an exceptionally high quality system at competitive prices.
As well as the standard on-roof and in-roof systems, we can also offer the following innovative solutions to the residential builder or owner:
Solar Canopies
Solar Canopies can be installed where a building doesn't have a south facing roof for a traditional roof installation. The images below show a number of ways to use these canopies.

Integrated rooflights
Another advantage of the Schuco system is that it can integrate with other elements such as rooflights as shown below

Solar Balconies
For south facing high-rise residential buildings an innovative solution is to integrate PV or Solar Thermal into the balconies as shown below
